Thrill Seeker

A New World Is Born

Reading, or rather, following a good story line never fails to amaze and intrigue people. It seems there is something nearly magical to it. This one started as the late fall of 2009 drew into a cold winter ruffling it’s way, and spreading it’s cold grip across the northern hemisphere. People of Norway were drawing indoors for shelter. You’d find us comfortably snuggled up in our couches, flipping through the channels of our flat screens, or comfortably seated in our favorite chair with a nice book, facing the soothing flames of a fireplace in a room streamed with scented candles and mellow music.

In short, we were escaping the cold grip with our minds, running away to warmer climates, snuggling up inside our imagination.

Thrill Seeker to The Queen of Dreams

Some time earlier, a young writer from Fiji had decided that it was time to widen his universe. So he buckled up, and set off on a global expedition. The journey was both long and perilous, but finally he found himself marooned in the winter city of Oslo. And that is where it all began.
His name is Matthew Quentin and he is the creator of the character called Constant Falter. Using his own life as blueprint, Matthew gives us stories that are proving to be somewhat of a phenomenon, as his writings are turning into more than mere words. With vivid imagination and a nose for the strangely intriguing, Constant Falter is rendered as the Thrill Seeker for the Queen of Dreams. Set in a starry dreampunk universe called The Big Wide Galaxy, our hero might be surfing on comets one minute, while rescuing fair maidens from self-indulging knights the next.

Back in the real world, on completion of each story Matthew is inviting a selection of artists from all genres to contribute artwork to it. So there are currently an undisclosed number of artists working on interpreting the stories in their own medium. Photos and paintings, music, films, theatreshows, costumes, and even games inspired by The Misadventures of Constant Falter, are already in the making. With the vast amount of art being created, the Big Wide Galaxy of young Mr Quentin’s stories is really coming into existence and taking on a life of its own.

Thrill Seeker Art at Display

These pieces of art are being shared with the world both through this webpage and exhibitions, the first one to be held at Gallery View in Oslo on the 3rd of July 2010. There you’ll find collectibles like first drafts and editions, paintings, costumes and even pieces of music, displayed for a whole month.
So if you’re in Oslo during July, you will have a chance to take a look at the Artworks of this project first hand.

Meanwhile our story line keeps rolling ever onwards and you are more than welcome to join in here at our blog. Breathe in the parallel world through the misadventures, have a look at what is currently in the works,  get to know the author MQ and the other artist’s in the articles describing their genius. Maybe you’re an artist and want to contribute by making a masterpiece yourself? Mention it in one of your comments and we will get in touch. Or you could just bring your friends over, leave a comment, share a piece of art you especially like on your favorite online community, express your views and discuss our Thrill Seeker’s misadventures.
